Memorial of the Heavenly Company Heroes

You can get to the Monument of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred through the recently created inclusive path from Kryvonosa Street 1 (next to the glass building of the Information Point). There is a car park for people with disabilities nearby. This asphalt path goes down quite gently (~8°), and a person with a disability can overcome it, but the help of a volunteer will not hurt some tourists.

In this way, a person with a disability can get to the Monument of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. There is already a smooth and non-slip surface, suitable for moving independently in a wheelchair in any weather. You can, alone, in a wheelchair, go to three different platforms and explore the entire monument and beautiful panoramic views of medieval Lviv. We strongly encourage you to overcome all difficulties!

There is no accessible toilet.

The concept of the Memorial project is the creation of a minimalist space that conveys the spirit of modernity and perpetuates the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred who gave their lives during the Revolution of Dignity.

The Memorial consists of two parts: the square with the stele on the upper terrace and the perspective of the pedestrian bridge between the hills along the street. Kryvonosa It will lead to the terrace from the side of the road. Zamkova, where a square and a stele (height 40 m., it symbolizes the arrow and barricade that was on the Maidan) dedicated to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred have been arranged.

The project's primary material is corten, which changes its texture over time and symbolizes struggle and burning fire. The Memorial is filled with cereal plants resembling ears of wheat, a symbol of the Ukrainian people.

As the authors of the project noted, the Memorial to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred is a space designed to commemorate the Heroes who died during the Maidan events.

Currently, a memorial stele has been built, which is covered with corten. Three observation decks were built, and plaques with portraits of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred engraved on stainless steel were installed — porters of Heroes 107. The portraits show the name, date of birth, and death, as well as the motto of each Hero, which is placed under each portrait. The portrait has a special hole where everyone can put a flower. Each portrait is agreed upon with the families of the fallen Heroes.
