Description
A small and cozy museum in the center of Rivne. Amber and products made from it are in two small rooms. The museum could be an actual business card of the city.
The amber museum was opened in Rivne in 2010 with the support of the local authorities based on the Rivne amber factory. It is located in the Rivne House of Scientists building and is a mansion at the beginning of the 20th century. The museum has many raw exhibits of unique beauty and many handmade jewelry.
Among the museum exhibits are pieces of amber up to 40 million years old, which were found at different times in the territory of the Rivne region. Ukraine's most senior amber product is exhibited in the amber museum - a disk amulet about 2.5 thousand years old. Here is a piece of wild amber weighing 2 kg.
The decoration of the museum is considered to be several stones in which various insects have crystallized. The exhibits of the Rivne Amber Museum tell about the history of stone mining in Rivne, as well as the only amber processing enterprise in Ukraine.
