The House of Chamber and Organ Music
Church of St. Anthony in Rivne

The House of Chamber and Organ Music

The object is inaccessible due to stairs and handrails, and the Church is unavailable to Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM). At the entrance to the Church, a flimsy metal structure made of channels is installed, which, according to the plan, should serve as a ramp. It is instead a threat of injuries. Visually impaired and blind people can listen to a tour of the hall's interior, provided that the guide has audio description skills.

There are no tactile exhibits in the interior.

The toilet facilities are in the basement and are not accessible to Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM).

Description

Metal construction from channels at the entrance to the church

Church of St. Antonia in Rivne, and today it is a chamber and organ music hall, was built in 1899. In 1859, the cornerstone of the Church of St. Anthony was laid. The construction was supervised by the Polish architect Kostyantyn Wojciechowski. Bishop Roman Sangushko from Slavuta financed the construction of this red brick Catholic shrine. The building was completed forty years later - in 1899.

In 1927, the parish church of St. Antonia has renewed anew: it received beautiful stained-glass windows and modernist polychromy of K. Politynsky's brush.

In 1958, the Church was closed by the Soviet authorities. First, the crosses were cut down, and then the neo-Gothic spires of the Church were dismantled. The burials of the Lubomyrskyi family in church dungeons were destroyed.

Today, there is a chamber and organ music hall here. Before that, the Globus cinema operated from the end of the 1960s until 1980. There is still a beautiful old clock on the facade of the building.

In the yard in front of the object is a rather exciting park with beautiful sculptures on a musical theme, which can serve as exhibits for tactile study by blind people, provided that the tour guide will tell about this sculpture.
