Zolochiv Castle is a unique monument of defense and palace architecture of late Renaissance character. The Olesky Castle and the Pidgoretsk Castle are included in the tourist route "Golden Horseshoe of Ukraine".

Zolochiv Castle is a monument of architecture of national importance and history for which thousands of tourists come to the city.

For centuries, life here has flourished thanks to and around this place. Zolochiv Castle is a valuable object for local history tourism. The first castle was built during the time of the Seninsky magnates. It was considered an outpost on the way of Tatars and Turks to Lviv. The castle was surrounded by the waters of the Zolochivka and Mlynivka rivers and, from the east, by the Benivskiy marshes.

When Zolochiv moved to Yakub Sobieski, the king's father, he was well aware that the old castle was outdated in every respect. In 1634-36, it was by order of Yakub Sobieski that a new castle was built, which has survived to this day. The castle belonged to the bastion type. At that time, it was a very modern system of fortifications, which was formed in the 16th century and became a logical result of the development of heavy artillery. This system was best developed in Italy and the Netherlands, and the projects of such castles were made by such outstanding artists as Michelangelo and Dürer. One of the best examples of a fortress with the use of bastions is the Zolochiv Castle.

The outer walls are relatively low, the earth ramparts are fortified with stones, the walls are buried in ditches, and small turrets - cavaliers - are at the four corners. The weak point of such castles was the entrance gate, which had to have an additional fortification - a ravelin, which received the first blows of the enemy. A bridge with a lifting mechanism exists between the ravelin and the gate. Under the bridge - a secret passage for forays. When there was an enemy under the castle walls, and the gate was blocked by part of the bridge, the only way to get out of the castle and reconnoiter was through this exit at the level of the moat. Unfortunately, the ravelin of the Zolochiv castle was completely destroyed in the 18th century, and the one we see now is a 2007 reconstruction.

There is an observation deck above the ravelin, and inside there is a restaurant, shops, and toilets, which are not accessible to people with disabilities (wheelchair users) and disabled persons.

On the walls of the castle in the 17th century, there were 64 guns; bastions outside the walls excluded the presence of "dead" zones, everything was well shot, and the enemy could not approach the walls unnoticed.
